Information about the
Chinchilla

Dear Dutch Club Members;

The ballot for accepting the Chinchilla Dutch variety has been sent to all voting members and should be sent back to John Graybeal by the date specified on the ballot. 

After the ballot went out, one of our Directors, Dick Gehr, found an error in the present description of the Chin variety and Cheryl Eng-Link, Chairperson of the ARBA Standards Committee, was contacted for further thoughts on this.  She stressed that we as a club are to be voting on the variety and not the color description, as the current color description will continue to be a work in progress.  If the Dutch Club votes in favor of the Chinchilla variety, the ARBA Standard Committee will again examine the progress of the presenter of this variety, Jill Ihrke, and at that time, further additions/clarifications would be added to the working Chin Standard at that time. 

The letter explaining this further, along with the description as it shall read until further notice from the ARBA Standards Committee has been posted on our web site for you to read.
