Letter from Daniel Lape
Raising Dutch rabbits has provided many challenging and rewarding opportunities for me. What an honor to receive the American Dutch Rabbit Club scholarship award. A sincere thank you to all the ADRC scholarship committee for choosing me as a recipient of the ADRC scholarship award. Also thank you for your time and dedication on keeping the scholarship active and growing.
While attending the National Dutch show at Wilmington, I had a chance to visit with many friends that over the past years have become a very important part of my life. I have been attending the National Dutch shows since the 1996 National Dutch show at Greenville, Ohio , missing only a few throughout the years.
For those of you that do not know me, My name is Daniel Lape and I am a freshman at the University of Cincinnati. I am currently majoring in business, hoping to pursue a career in business related to music and audio. I regret having to leave the National show early, but I am a member of the University of Cincinnati marching band and performed that Saturday at the spring football game. For those of you that know me, music is also a very important part of my life.
Through my experiences raising Dutch, I have learned about responsibilities, organization, work and show ethics, and sportsmanship as well as leadership. Although responsibility and organization were a vital component to my success in both my rabbits and my future, I have also gained many lifelong friendships along the journey. These experiences
have led me to be more self confident and have instilled in me many characteristics that I hope to continue to use as I pursue my future education the University of Cincinnati in career in business.
Thank you again to the ADRC scholarship committee and thank you to all who have helped me along my journey. Many Dutch breeders have become a part of my family. Also thank you to my family for their support and guidance, without them I would not have had this great hobby. Someone once told me ,”Good rabbits will come and go, but good friends will last a lifetime”. I truly believe that the friends that I have made through raising Dutch will always be here for me. As I continue my journey in life to purse my education , I hope to make new friends, but my Dutch friends and family will always be here. I believe that it is true “You can’t beat the
