I (Stan Goeglein) personally met and became friends with Bill at the ARBA Convention in Sedalia, MO in 1963. We had a mutual interest in the breeding of Black And Blue Dutch and became good friends. Bill was an active member of the ADRC from the time he showed at the Nationl Dutch Show in 1945 at Muncie, IN, with the exception of his time in the Service until approximately 1969 or 1970. For various reasons, he had to move across country to Illinois. Bill had some real fine Dutch with Black and Blue being his specialty. These Dutch came from Ed Bickley in Ohio and Ancel Beaver stock in Indiana.
Initially, Bill was a Director of the ADRC for two terms and was President also for two terms. A good wirter, he wrote regularly for our Guide Books and the Dutch Reporters. His winnings, were impressive, having won ARBA Conventions and National Dutch Shows, and many major awards. I understand he is back living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and busy raising Netherland Dwarfs.
Thanks for the memories, Bill. We will be looking for you at the rabbit shows in the future.
